Dial-in Questions
First Time Setup
Setting up your computer to connect to CrispNet is quick and easy. For Windows 98 or Windows ME, just double-click on "My Computer" then "Dial-Up Network" then "Make New Connection" and follow the instructions in the wizard. For Windows 2000 or Windows XP, select "Start" then "Control Panel" then "Network Connections" (or "Dial-up and Network Connections") then "Create a New Connection" and follow the on-screen instructions. For more detailed explanations, click on your version of Windows below:
I get Username or Password Invalid when trying to dial in!
1. First off, make sure your password is correct. Windows will * it out, so you should try re-typing it. Capitalization is important! Normally, both username and password are all lowercase.

2. When connecting to CrispNet's numbers above, you should have "username@crisp.net" for the "User" in your Dialing window. If your username is "joe", it should read "joe@crisp.net".

3. Give us a call at 732-885-0808, there may be a problem with your account.

How do I know which number to use?
At the beginning of your local Phone Book is a list of local exchanges. The "exchange" is the second set of numbers in a 10 digit telephone number. For instance, if your number is "732-885-0808", your exchange is "885". If that exchange is listed, than any number 732-885-XXXX is toll-free call for you.

E-Mail Questions
What are the E-Mail Settings?
With CrispNet, you can use any POP3 mail program you choose, and no one client is dominant, so we don't have explicit instructions. However, most programs have an easy to use Wizard to set you up nicely, and here are the answers to the questions it will ask:
  • E-Mail Address: username@crisp.net (where "username" is the name you chose when you set up the account)
  • Type of Incoming Mail Server: POP3
  • Incoming Mail Server: mail.crisp.net
  • Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: mail.crisp.net

Can I use IMAP?
Yes! CrispNet now supports IMAP. Use the same mail server and username listed above.

Domain Questions
How Do I Upload a Web Page?
Uploading your Web Site is quick and easy. You can use any FTP Client to connect to www.crisp.net with your user id and password. To get step by step instructions for using WS-FTP LE, a freely available FTP Client, click here

Can I Get Statistics for my Web Page?
Of course, just click here and login with your username and password. If your password does not work, please send us e-mail. Not every web site automatically has web statistics compiled, but we can easily add yours at any time.

How Do I Control My Domain's E-Mail?
CrispNet offers a web-based interface to add, delete, and modify e-mail accounts, forwards, and aliases. Simply go to MailAdmin. Leave the account as "postmaster", type in your domain name (without the www), and your postmaster password to login. If you do not know your postmaster password, send e-mail to help@crisp.net.
